Does "levitation" occur partly or wholly in nature?

(I only skim-read terms of use)
In an avalanche of rocks, I think maybe a pattern of impacts on one rock from collissions with other rocks, might cause that rock to "hold its own place" at least such as to press less downwards, so partly "levitate" (like a "weighted" bowl?) Does "levitation" occur partly or wholly in nature?
