The Zeitgeist Movement is a fraud, in the same group as Alex Jones and Joe Rogan. Created by the elite for shock value. That's the truth. Actually, though they are wrong that authority is the "truth" in some ways they will have it a lot easier than those who know other wise. Those who accept the authorities as the truth are less likely to be targeted by the authority for investigation or persecution.
There is some truth to the statement that "Ignorance is bliss." I think that happens because people don't have enough self-confidence, and don't trust (in) themselves, so one way to compensate for that missing trust is to hide behind famous names to which people generally trust.
