God finished creation, declared it good, and sat down. That is a metaphore which means that God was finished with creation when He finished creation. You are simply part of creation and can only be punished naturally by attempting to break the natural laws which God set in motion at creation. In other words, if you attempt to fly off of the roof, you will be punished for attempting to break the natural law of gravity:-) God created you and loves you. We all go through difficult things in our lives. It may seem like we are being punished, but God is using this to teach us. For instance, when I found out a had a disease, I thought God was punishing me, but He has taught me so much about compassion and love through this disease. Try to look for the lesson that God is teaching you. Of course not. God is not punishing anyone. It would be the same as if I told you "Don't go down this street, there is ice and you will fall.". Then you go down this street and fall and come to me and ask me "Why you punished me?" I didn't. I gave you advice about how to live life in a blessed way, but if you don't do that, you are not provoking me, you simply are not living your life in a blessed way. Is god punishing me?
