It is not the politics or economics which improves the human life, it is the technology.

I don't agree that because there was an economy that gave grounds for technology to be created. Technology has been being created and improved upon far before economys existed. Also to say that the creation of technology needs to be funded by the economy is also false in my eyes. If that were the case, microsoft, electricity, the first car, the first single cylinder steam engine all would have never been created because they were done so by individuals without public funding.[1][2] Economy helps technology, and politics kills technology. Even the poorest parts of the world have technological inventions that improve lives. I have seen how slum like homes in Africa use plastic bottles filled with rain water to light the inside. It is not huge amount of money invested in some lab that makes technology (although it can help), but great ideas. Did Nobel spend much money to invent dynamite? Didn't dynamite enable rapid exploitation of otherwise hardly accessible resources and created many new economies in such way? Technology is only possible because there was an economy to create the technology. The internet would not have been made without money. Even enterprising inventors need funds for labs and materials. Abstracts such as technology and the economy cannot be rated higher or lower than each other. They are all equally important. Even politics exist as a necessary evil for keeping people organized and cooperative. No technology is created in anarchy. While other areas of human activity can make changes in short run, in the long run it is the technology which fundamentally changes our lives, standard of living, culture. It is not the politics or economics which improves the human life, it is the technology.
We need techies!
