Should prostitution be legalized?

Criminalizing prostitution only results in worse health conditions both of prostitutes and their customers. STDs are much more prevalent in illegal street prostitutes than in heir legal brothel counterparts. [1] If nothing else, legalizing prostitution reduces the rate of rape significantly. Fewer rapes would result in fewer unwanted pregnancies, and this would result in fewer abortions. This alone may be a sufficient reason for legalizing prostitution. Well, I understand prostitution has been around for a few years. And they tried to legislate it out of existence and I don't think it's worked very well. I would essentially have no restrictions, certainly on the federal level. [2] You put a willing buyer with a willing seller, and it's up to them. You can argue with them that it's foolish, you can argue with them that it's a bad thing to do, but I don't see any justification for bringing the police into it. [3]Should prostitution be legalized?
Sex is one of the most beautiful, natural, wholesome things that money can buy.
