Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present.

To say that today is a gift uses positive connotations. Perhaps true reality, true 'present', is without bias, without positive and negative. With this in mind, I disagree with the quotation.
I once saw a picture saying that. I was drunk and I broke it. No regrets. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present. In English language the word 'present' may be used to mark current time, however, in most other languages it is not so. In my language it can be written as 'momentarily', 'noweness' and similar, but not as 'present'. I do like the English synonym thought. :)
