There is no real difference between natural and artificial selection. In both systems, those who have higher chances of reproduction pass on more offspring.

For example, producing bigger fruits is a poor strategy outside of farms because by putting a lot of resources into single seeds, you miss out on potential to make more seeds. However, in farm environments, producing the biggest fruits mean the farmer will grow more from those seeds. To say that apple trees or strawberry plants have low fitness is incorrect.There is no real difference between natural and artificial selection. In both systems, those who have higher chances of reproduction pass on more offspring.
