Inventions and patents

If you don't patent it, Mr Jerk Edison will do it for you. We should patent our inventions so that they can help someone and we can benefit from licensing the invention and making money off of it. Eventually there will be such a thing as virtual patents, where someone can pay money to play the role of an 'architect' or 'inventor'; This is because corporations will own most of the material and will be looking for ways to raise additional revenue. Virtual reality offers interesting prospects on the universalism of media. The patent owner may have exclusive rights to make, use or sell the claimed invention[1]A patent (/ˈpætənt/ or /ˈpeɪtənt/) is a form of intellectual property. It consists of a set of exclusive rights granted by a sovereign state to an inventor or their assignee for a limited period of time, in exchange for the public disclosure of the invention[2] As we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours; and this we should do freely and generously, without patenting them.
