How are common sense and reason different?

While 'common sense' phrase is used to refer to knowledge or propositions that in speaker's opinion most people would consider valid without reliance on advanced knowledge, reason is ability to generate non-intuitive conclusions from assumptions or premises. While common sense is based on individual beliefs about what others know, reason is a biological predisposition of all humans. How are common sense and reason different?
